Why I used Eczema Natural Remedies

Scientific Stuff

Eczema is the term used to describe a wide range of medical conditions of the skin, in which the skin becomes inflamed and or irritated. In general, atopic dermatitis (aka atopic eczema), is the most common type of eczema, and often leads to development of some allergic conditions, such as hay fever or asthma.

Atopic eczema affects 9-30% of the population, according to the NIAID, and is most common in children and infants. The majority of infants affected by eczema outgrow it before they’re two years old, although some people have symptoms of eczema throughout their life.

Typical Treatments

When most sufferers of eczema see a dermatologist, they’re usually prescribed moisturizers, anti-inflammatory drugs or corticosteroids, mild cleansors, antibiotics, and anti-itch creams. The problem with these treatments is that they never actually stop the cause of the eczema, and continue to have to use expensive drugs/creams to keep their eczema under control. Most of the steroids that doctors prescribe make the skin thinner, actually making your eczema worse in the long run. Natural eczema remedies actually treat the root of the problem, and keep eczema from coming back.

Natural Remedies for Eczema

Eczema natural remedies are not commonly used or talked about by most doctors, because if everyone knew about the natural remedies, they wouldn’t have to visit their doctor frequently for expensive treatments and prescriptions. I don’t know about you, but saving money on doctor’s visits alone is enough want a better way to get rid of eczema.

Natural Remedies for Eczema

There are several different natural ways to treat eczema. After trying coconut oil and a biotin supplement, I couldn’t see any improvement in my skin’s condition.

Here’s a few other eczema natural remedies I’ve found online:

Zinc

Sunbathing – Sitting out in the sun causes your skin to dry out!

Nutmeg paste – I don’t even know where to find this stuff, never tried it.

Those are some of the natural remedies for eczema I’ve seen online, and the few that I’ve tried either don’t work or take way too long to see any benefit.

I’d rather not spend months and months trying eczema  natural remedies that aren’t proven to work – that’s more annoying than the eczema itself!

Finally, I did try this out. Hopefully it gets rid of your eczema too.

Eczema Natural Remedy – Does it work?

The first time eczema showed up was around 8th grade. My hands were dry for a few days and started itching slightly,  but I thought nothing of it. They continued to itch throughout the week, and I had no idea what caused it. So I went to the doctor and he said I had a mild case of atopic eczema. He prescribed me some moisturizers and an anti-histamine. It helped.

Imagine trying to play guitar with hands like this

My eczema persisted, and I went back to the doctor and continued to go back for more prescriptions. This went on for about 7 or 8 years. I’m a guitar player, and every time I played my hands got significantly worse, more cracks, opening up scabs. Eczema is a pain.

I finally got to the point where I was so pissed off that I quit using all the stuff my doctor prescribed me and started searching online for a natural remedy for eczema. Eczema natural remedies aren’t that hard to find, but it is hard to find something that actually gets rid of eczema and doesn’t just temporarily help the problem.

I tried some different supplements, and a couple natural moisturizers, but I couldn’t see any improvement in my skin. My hands continued to itch, and crack especially when I played guitar. I didn’t want to go back to the doctor for more prescriptions, as they obviously were only treating the symptoms, and not that actual cause. That’s why it comes back!

My eczema is finally gone, thanks to this natural remedy for eczema.

Eczema Natural Remedies

Filed under: eczema natural remedies — Sean @ 5:24 pm

I’ve had eczema on my hands since I was in middle school, and pretty much everything I do involves hands. Driving, typing, writing, and the biggest annoyance for me is playing guitar. I love to play. There’s nothing worse than dry, cracked hands, especially when you’re trying to play guitar. They get worse and worse, and finally you have to just quit for a while and wait for them to heal. Eczema sucks!

Every time it came back I’d have to go to the dermatologist and pay like $100 just to have him prescribe steroids and creams that temporarily get rid of eczema. There’s nothing worse than depending on a doctor and his prescriptions to live normally.

What did I do?

Well at first, I tried using all the OTC stuff like the cortisone creams with benedryl, etc.. It does help, but using it all the time becomes a pain and it’s hard to remember to always keep it on you. I got sick of this, so I searched all over the internet for a better way to treat it.

Natural Remedies for Eczema.. try typing that in and actually finding something that works! I had a horrible time coming across decent information on the internet for natural eczema remedies that are proven to work- LONG TERM.

The few things I’ve actually found were lists of supplements and other temporary treatments.

Tomato juice

Zinc

Biotin

Sunbathing

I did find something that works, however. I play guitar every single day, WITHOUT my hands bleeding, and it’s because I didn’t give in and go to the doctor for more prescriptions. I knew there had to be a better way to get rid of it, and I finally found a real eczema natural remedy. Hopefully it works for you too, it should work for all degrees of eczema. You can check it out here.
